January 25, 2008 – Southeastern Emergency Equipment Expanding
Construction is about to begin on our new 16,000 square foot building. The building will be located adjacent to (but will not replace) our current headquarters/warehouse at 5760 Hwy 96 W, Youngsville, NC. The new building will contain additional offices and warehouse space, a 2,200 square foot training facility and a maintenance shop for ambulances and construction of MCI/WMD trailers. Construction is expected to be completed around the end of Q2 2008.

“We are looking forward to the completion of the new building as it will allow us to better serve our customers and will also allow us to increase our service offerings,” said Carla Baker, President of Southeastern Emergency Equipment (SEE). “With the addition of new offices and warehouse space, we will be able to hire additional customer service staff and also stock additional product. It will also allow us to expand our training department to include regularly scheduled classes for both the lay public and healthcare providers,” she said. “Due to the increase in orders for MCI trailers, we have outgrown our current shop located in Benson, NC. Having a larger shop will allow our production of MCI trailers to increase significantly, resulting in shorter delivery times to our customers.”

Below are illustrations of the new building. Please check back periodically to see construction photos, updates, etc.

December 1st, 2007 --SEE Customer Service Manager, Rhoda Holbrook Celebrates 20th Year of Service
December 1st marked 20 years of service to the EMS community and employment with Southeastern Emergency Equipment (SEE) for Customer Service Manager Rhoda Holbrook. In commenting on the milestone, Carla Baker, President of SEE, said much of Southeastern’s growth and success could be contributed to Holbrook. “Rhoda IS Southeastern to many of our customers and she is one of the main reasons they do business with us,” Baker said. “Our customers know they can count on her. She loves the EMS and fire communities and it shows – to her its not just about selling products – it is about helping our customers possibly save a life.”

When asked why she has not changed jobs in 20 years, Holbrook said because she could not image doing anything else. “I have the best job in the world. Every day I get to talk with my friends (some would call them customers) and help them get supplies and equipment to make their jobs easier and that could make a difference in someone’s life. Yes, it is extremely hectic and sometimes even stressful (for example when a manufacturer has production problems and is not shipping product and we have to try to find a substitute because our customers must have the product), but it helps me keep in mind the difficult job our EMS and fire professionals have and just makes me want to work harder to make at least one component --ordering supplies and equipment -- easy and fun for them. Plus, SEE is a great company. We are not a huge corporation with a lot of rigid rules and policies and we don’t answer to a big group of shareholders. That allows us to be flexible and do what it takes to make our customers happy. We are told everyday at SEE that IT IS ALL ABOUT THE CUSTOMER and that yes, while our CEO’s name is technically at the bottom of our paychecks, it is really the names of our customers that sign our paychecks.”
