Houston Galveston Area Council

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC or HGACBuy) is a government agency which provides a Cooperative Purchasing Program as part of its service to other government agencies.  The program currently makes blanket-type contracts, covering products and services for the use of its membership of more than 4500 local government participants including cities, counties, emergency service districts, school districts, etc…  Any local government may participate in the program so long as their state has “inter-local cooperation authority” or other joint power provisions that allow participation in cooperative activities.  H-GAC is based out of Texas but has members in 44 states across the nation.  Membership is free for participants.
 
This contract makes our Emergency Medical & Rescue Equipment available to all current and future participants in H-GAC.  This allows participants to purchase equipment in an efficient, cost-effective and competitive procurement method (and avoids the need to go out to bid).

BuyBoard

The BuyBoard National Purchasing Cooperative provides school districts with an opportunity to save time and money while purchasing the products you use every day. Through collaboration between the National School Boards Association (NSBA) and several State School Boards Associations, school districts (and other governmental entities-eligible governmental entities include: Cities, Municipalities, Towns, Villages, Counties, Community Colleges, Public Universities, and Other Local Government Agencies) can benefit from BuyBoard which was developed to comply with state laws which require government entities to make purchases from an approved list of vendors who have gone through a competitive bidding process. The BuyBoard competitive bidding process gives districts the advantage of leveraging the cooperative’s ability to get volume discounts and combines it with the ease of online, web-based shopping and ordering. Districts that qualify can use BuyBoard to purchase everything from pencils to relocatable classrooms, and everything in between.
